BEST ROAD TRIPS FROM OUARZAZATE BY RENTAL CAR

A perfect short itinerary for travelers with limited time who still want to enjoy the historical charm, beautiful oases, and desert landscapes of southern Morocco.

Suggested Itinerary :
 

Day 1 : Ouarzazate – Fint Oasis

• Morning visit to the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Cinema Museum in Ouarzazate.

• Drive to the Fint Oasis (about 30 minutes).

• Lunch at a local auberge or picnic in the oasis.

• Relaxation or walk through the palm grove and traditional villages.

• Return to Ouarzazate in the late afternoon.

• Overnight in Ouarzazate.
   

Day 2 : Ouarzazate – Aït Ben Haddou – (Optional: Telouet)

• Depart for Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site (30 km – approx. 45 minutes).

• Visit the famous kasbah and its panoramic views.

• Optional detour to Telouet to visit the Kasbah of the Glaoui.

• Return to Aït Ben Haddou or back to Ouarzazate in the evening.

• Overnight in Aït Ben Haddou or Ouarzazate.
   

Day 3 : Ouarzazate – Agdz – Draa Valley – Zagora

• Depart towards Agdz via the Tizi n'Tinififft pass.

• Visit the Kasbah of Tamnougalt and explore the Draa Valley palm grove.

• Continue on to Zagora, gateway to the Sahara.

• Optional visit to Tamegroute: old Koranic library, underground kasbah, pottery workshops.

• Overnight in Zagora.
   

Day 4 : Zagora – Return to Ouarzazate via the Draa Valley

• Morning in Zagora (camel ride optional).

• Leisurely drive back to Ouarzazate through the Draa Valley, with stops in small villages.

• Lunch on the road (Agdz or Tamnougalt).

• Arrival in Ouarzazate in the late afternoon.
